Axel's take: 7.8/10

A comfortable Chiaia base whose location outshines its aging interiors. a traditional 4-star city hotel in Chiaia, scored for what it is.

Exe Majestic is a traditional 4-star city hotel in Chiaia, and we'd choose it for the neighborhood rather than contemporary style. Shops, restaurants, the waterfront and metro connections make it a practical Naples base. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and helpful staff; some upper-floor rooms add sweeping bay views.

The recurring compromise is age: recent guests across several sites describe dated furnishings, occasional maintenance shortcomings and street noise. Breakfast earns both praise and complaints about variety, so don't make it the deciding factor. There's a gym, but this is primarily somewhere comfortable to sleep between outings, not a destination hotel. It's a good fit for travelers who prioritize location and space; we'd skip it for polished luxury or reliably quiet nights.

• Best for: couples exploring Chiaia; shopping and waterfront walks; travelers who prefer traditional hotels

• Watch out for: dated interiors and uneven maintenance; street noise in some rooms; limited, non-reservable parking

• Location: Walkable Chiaia setting near restaurants, shopping, the waterfront and metro stations.

• Rooms: Many guests praise space and comfortable beds; decor is dated, with bay views from some upper-floor rooms.

• Cleanliness: Generally strong guest feedback, despite occasional complaints about dust and worn areas.

• Service: Mostly helpful and welcoming, though some guests report indifferent responses.

• Amenities: Gym, free Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast and meeting rooms; breakfast feedback is mixed.

• Fees and surprises: City tax applies; breakfast may cost extra, and paid parking is subject to availability on arrival.
