Axel's take: 9.1/10

A strong luxury pick for thoughtful service, generous rooms and serious dining. a five-star luxury high-rise connected to Palladium mall in Lower Parel, scored for what it is.

The St. Regis Mumbai is a five-star luxury high-rise in Lower Parel, and we'd put it high on the shortlist for a pampered city stay. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise attentive butlers, meticulous housekeeping, comfortable rooms and the extensive Seven Kitchens breakfast. The direct connection to Phoenix Palladium makes shopping easy, while the outdoor pool, spa and varied restaurants give you good reasons to stay in.

The main compromise is the setting: this is a shopping-and-business base, not a doorstep address for Colaba sightseeing. We'd choose elsewhere if exploring that neighborhood on foot is your priority. A few recent guests describe disappointing check-in or follow-through, though those accounts are substantially outweighed by praise for personalized care. Confirm breakfast and transfer inclusions rather than assuming everything comes with the luxury label.

• Best for: luxury shopping and dining breaks; special-occasion stays; business travelers in Lower Parel

• Watch out for: not a walk-out base for Colaba; occasional service lapses; breakfast and transfers depend on booking

• Location: Connected to Phoenix Palladium; especially convenient for shopping and Lower Parel business.

• Rooms: Comfortable, spacious rooms earn strong praise; views vary by category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest sites, with particularly strong housekeeping feedback.

• Service: Personalized butler care stands out, despite occasional complaints about reception and follow-through.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, gym and extensive dining; Sahib Room & Kipling Bar reopened after refurbishment in July 2025.

• Fees and surprises: On-site and valet parking are complimentary; airport transfers cost extra unless included in your package.
