#1 of 5 hotels in Marine Drive & Nariman Point by Axel's take. Marine Drive & Nariman Point is #3 of 9 places to stay in Mumbai. The best hotels in Marine Drive & Nariman Point, ranked · Where to stay in Mumbai

Axel's take: 9.1/10

Exceptional service makes this a standout, but wellness renovations are a real caveat. a service-led 5-star waterfront hotel at Nariman Point, scored for what it is.

The Oberoi Mumbai is a polished 5-star waterfront hotel at Nariman Point, and we'd choose it for attentive service rather than resort-style facilities. Recent Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise thoughtful staff, immaculate rooms and excellent breakfasts. Comfortable rooms and bay or ocean views strengthen the appeal, making this a particularly strong base for a luxury South Mumbai stay.

The significant catch is that the hotel's spa and fitness centre are currently under renovation. Oberoi confirms limited treatments in a private spa suite, with gym and steam-room access at the adjoining Trident instead. Check your exact room category, too: a bay view does not necessarily mean an uninterrupted ocean panorama. We'd skip it for a wellness-focused break until the facilities reopen; for service-led city luxury, it remains an excellent choice.

  • Best for: couples seeking attentive luxury; South Mumbai business travelers; travelers prioritizing service and cleanliness

  • Watch out for: spa and fitness centre under renovation; gym access at adjoining Trident; view quality varies by room category

  • Location: Waterfront Nariman Point setting, particularly suited to South Mumbai stays.

  • Rooms: Strong comfort feedback; recent guests praise refurbished rooms, but view categories need careful checking.

  • Cleanliness: Consistently excellent feedback across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor.

  • Service: The defining strength: repeated praise for thoughtful, personable staff across departments.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool and well-reviewed dining; spa treatments are limited and gym access is at Trident during renovations.

  • Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusions and the precise view category; do not assume the full spa and gym are available.
