Axel's take: 6.8/10

Useful for BKC appointments, but tiny rooms and uneven upkeep limit the appeal. a compact mid-range business hotel near BKC, scored for what it is.

Lemon Tree Kalina BKC is a compact mid-range business hotel: a practical option for BKC meetings or US consulate appointments, rather than a leisurely Mumbai break. Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and restaurant service, and recent Expedia reviews also credit the reception team. We'd consider it for a short solo stay where convenience matters more than space.

The main compromise is genuinely small rooms: the hotel's own figures put most categories at roughly 12–17 square metres. That complaint runs across sites, while recent guests also describe worn furnishings, bathroom faults and inconsistent housekeeping. Feedback is unusually divided, with much stronger ratings on Tripadvisor than Booking.com or Expedia. We'd skip it for a family holiday or if you expect consistently polished four-star comfort; confirm the exact room size and breakfast inclusion before booking.

• Best for: solo business travelers; short US consulate visits; BKC meeting stopovers

• Watch out for: very small rooms and bathrooms; uneven maintenance and housekeeping; room-size listings differ between sites

• Location: Practical for BKC and consulate visits; allow for traffic rather than trusting short airport-transfer estimates.

• Rooms: Mostly compact: official categories are approximately 12–17 square metres; recent maintenance complaints merit attention.

• Cleanliness: Many guests praise clean rooms, but other recent reports describe dirt, odors and worn bedding.

• Service: Staff helpfulness is a recurring strength, although check-in and problem handling receive mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Citrus Café, Slounge, room service and Wi-Fi cover the business-stay basics.

• Fees and surprises: The hotel says parking is free and airport transfers cost extra; check breakfast inclusion and confirm room dimensions.
