Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong airport luxury pick, with generous rooms and consistently praised staff. a five-star luxury business hotel near Mumbai Airport Terminal 2, scored for what it is.

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar is a five-star airport business hotel that delivers convincingly on comfort, cleanliness and service. We'd choose it for a comfortable stopover or work trip: Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the spacious rooms, helpful staff and extensive breakfast, while recent Tripadvisor reviews are particularly enthusiastic about the executive lounge. The outdoor pool, spa and gym make it more than somewhere to sleep between flights.

The main compromise is location: this is an airport base, not our first choice for a sightseeing-led Mumbai holiday. Restaurants can get busy, with occasional waits even in otherwise positive reviews. Also confirm facilities before booking: Agoda carries an undated JW Café closure notice, although Marriott still advertises it and October guests describe dining there. Marriott explicitly says there is no airport shuttle; arrange transport rather than assuming one.

• Best for: comfortable airport stopovers; business travelers; travelers who value a good executive lounge

• Watch out for: airport location rather than a sightseeing base; busy restaurants and occasional waits; conflicting JW Café availability information

• Location: Convenient for Terminal 2; less compelling for a sightseeing-focused stay.

• Rooms: Spacious, comfortable rooms draw consistent praise across booking sites.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength, supported by strong Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness ratings.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring highlight, particularly in the executive lounge.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, gym and several dining venues; confirm JW Café availability.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; breakfast and transfers depend on the package, and Marriott lists no airport shuttle.
