Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong mall-side pick for clean rooms and helpful staff, without the family-hotel extras. a modern, select-service 3-star across from Mall of America, scored for what it is.

This modern, select-service 3-star across from Mall of America is a strong pick for shoppers and business travelers who want a polished base rather than a resort. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the clean, well-kept rooms and helpful staff, backing up strong overall ratings. The lounge and generous lobby seating add somewhere useful to unwind or work, while the mall is an easy walk away.

The trade-offs are mostly about what isn't included: breakfast and parking cost extra, there's no airport shuttle, and there's no pool or hot tub. Marriott also lists housekeeping every other day. We'd choose it for a short shopping trip or work stay, but skip it if swimming, bundled breakfast or door-to-door airport transport are priorities.

• Best for: Mall of America shopping trips; business travelers; couples on short stays

• Watch out for: Breakfast and parking cost extra; No airport shuttle; No pool or hot tub

• Location: Across the street from Mall of America, with restaurants and light rail within walking distance.

• Rooms: Modern, minimalist rooms draw consistent praise for their condition and comfort.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Helpful front-desk staff are repeatedly praised, though individual experiences vary.

• Amenities: Fitness center, lounge, breakfast restaurant and EV charging; no pool or hot tub.

• Fees and surprises: Paid parking and breakfast, no airport shuttle, and housekeeping every other day.
