#5 of 9 hotels in Downtown & Deer District by Axel's take. Downtown & Deer District is #2 of 5 places to stay in Milwaukee. The best hotels in Downtown & Deer District, ranked · Where to stay in Milwaukee

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong downtown base, especially for conventions, with friendly service and room-selection caveats. a practical 3-star all-suite hotel beside the Baird Center, scored for what it is.

This 3-star all-suite hotel is a strong pick for conventions and downtown event weekends. The Baird Center skywalk and short walk to Fiserv Forum make the location genuinely useful, while included hot breakfast adds value. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms—exactly what this class should deliver.

The main catch is that not every suite feels equally generous or bright. Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests describe awkward layouts and windows facing walls or neighboring rooms, so request an outward-facing room rather than assuming a city view. Parking is a substantial extra, and Marriott lists housekeeping every other day. We'd choose it for convenient, comfortable downtown stays, but skip it if expansive views or daily room servicing are priorities.

  • Best for: Baird Center convention attendees; Bucks games and concert weekends; Travelers who value breakfast included

  • Watch out for: Some rooms have restricted views; Paid parking; Housekeeping every other day

  • Location: Connected by skywalk to the Baird Center and three blocks from Fiserv Forum.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable, but recent guests describe variable layouts and some dark, inward-facing rooms.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback on Tripadvisor and Expedia outweighs isolated recent housekeeping failures.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength in recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews.

  • Amenities: Included hot breakfast, a fitness center, laundry facilities, and Doc's Smokehouse restaurant and bar.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; dogs incur a nonrefundable stay fee, and housekeeping is scheduled every other day.
