Axel's take: 6.6/10

Friendly staff and useful breakfast, but tired rooms make this a qualified pick. a no-frills 2.5-star hotel near Wauwatosa’s medical center, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2.5-star in Wauwatosa is a practical base for hospital visits or a quick overnight, rather than somewhere we’d choose for a leisurely stay. Free hot breakfast and parking help the value, and rooms include microwaves and mini-fridges. Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, especially the breakfast team, while comfortable beds earn regular mentions.

The drawback is inconsistent upkeep, not a lack of luxury. Recent Expedia reviews describe worn bathrooms, musty smells and maintenance faults; Tripadvisor guests also flag dirty carpets and overdue updating. Plenty of guests report clean rooms, but the recurring problems make this harder to recommend confidently. There’s no pool, and IHG’s own pages contradict each other about a local shuttle, so confirm transportation before booking. We’d skip it if dependable bathroom cleanliness or fresh interiors are priorities.

• Best for: short medical-center visits; drivers wanting breakfast and parking included

• Watch out for: recurring bathroom cleanliness and maintenance complaints; worn interiors and occasional musty smells; unconfirmed local shuttle availability

• Location: Near Mayfair Mall and roughly 2.5 miles from the regional hospital campus; useful for west-side visits.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds are a strength, but aging bathrooms and malfunctioning fixtures recur in guest reports.

• Cleanliness: Mixed: many clean-room reports, alongside repeated complaints about carpets, bathroom mildew and odors.

• Service: Generally a strong point, with frequent praise for friendly staff and the breakfast team.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking; a 24-hour gym, in-room microwaves and mini-fridges; no pool or restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Pets incur fees; confirm terms directly because listings differ. IHG also gives conflicting shuttle information.
