Axel's take: 6.1/10

Useful kitchens and helpful staff, but cleanliness is too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. a no-frills budget extended-stay hotel with in-room kitchens, scored for what it is.

This budget extended-stay hotel in Wauwatosa makes most sense for self-sufficient travelers with a car. In-room kitchens, free parking and guest laundry are practical advantages, and Mayfair Mall is nearby. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests often praise individual staff members; several recent visitors also describe comfortable, clean rooms. It's a workable option for a longer stay, but not a dependable first choice.

The problem is consistency. Across Expedia, Tripadvisor and Booking.com reviews reproduced by Planet of Hotels, guests repeatedly report dirty bathrooms, lingering odors and worn fixtures alongside those better experiences. The Select Suites setup also means limited front-desk hours, housekeeping every two weeks for longer stays, and cookware and dishes sold separately. Don't count on breakfast, despite older listings. We'd skip it if reliable cleanliness, daily service or an uncomplicated late arrival matters most.

• Best for: self-catering travelers with a car; longer stays with modest service expectations

• Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and lingering odors; limited reception hours; confirm late arrivals; cookware, dishes and extra services cost more

• Location: Near Mayfair Mall and highway access; more practical with a car than as a downtown sightseeing base.

• Rooms: Kitchens have full-size refrigerators, stovetops and microwaves; guests report uneven upkeep and worn fixtures.

• Cleanliness: Some recent guests find clean rooms, but dirty bathrooms, odors and housekeeping lapses recur across sites.

• Service: Individual staff earn frequent praise, though reception is not staffed around the clock.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and parking, guest laundry and pet-friendly rooms; do not expect breakfast.

• Fees and surprises: Cookware and dishes are sold separately; pet fees and extra cleaning or linen-exchange charges can apply.
