Axel's take: 6.5/10

Airport convenience and a good breakfast, but upkeep is too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. a dated 3-star airport hotel with conference facilities, scored for what it is.

This is a dated 3-star airport hotel whose strongest argument is convenience: a free airport shuttle, included hot breakfast and rooms with microwaves and refrigerators. We'd consider it for a practical overnight before a flight. Recent Expedia guests often praise the breakfast, helpful employees and clean, comfortable rooms, while Trip.com guests also describe accommodating staff.

The catch is consistency. Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews repeat complaints about damp or musty rooms, worn interiors and uneven housekeeping or front-desk help. Plenty of guests have trouble-free stays, but the maintenance concerns are more than isolated grumbling. Expedia currently lists the indoor pool and hot tub as closed Tuesday through Saturday, despite the official site advertising both; confirm directly before booking. We'd skip it for a pool-focused family break or if dependable cleanliness matters more than airport proximity.

• Best for: overnight airport stays; travelers who prioritize an included breakfast

• Watch out for: recurring dampness and upkeep complaints; inconsistent housekeeping and service; pool and hot-tub closure notices

• Location: Very close to Mitchell Airport; the free shuttle has limited operating hours, so confirm your flight timing.

• Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful, but worn furnishings, dampness and maintenance faults recur in reviews.

• Cleanliness: Many recent guests report clean rooms, but repeated contrary reports make standards less dependable.

• Service: Helpful employees earn frequent praise; other guests describe indifferent reception and poor problem handling.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, gym and restaurant/bar; Expedia lists pool and hot-tub closures Tuesday through Saturday.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists paid parking and an incidental deposit; pets incur additional charges.
