#9 of 9 hotels in Downtown & Deer District by Axel's take. Downtown & Deer District is #2 of 5 places to stay in Milwaukee. The best hotels in Downtown & Deer District, ranked · Where to stay in Milwaukee

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A strong arena-weekend base, but noise and parking are the trade-offs. a casual 3-star riverfront hotel near Fiserv Forum, scored for what it is.

This casual 3-star on Milwaukee’s RiverWalk is a strong pick for Bucks games, concerts and nights out, rather than a quiet getaway. Fiserv Forum and nearby restaurants are the main draw. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff and generally clean, comfortable rooms. The indoor pool, gym and lobby bar give it enough beyond the basics for a short downtown stay.

The catch is noise: guests mention nightlife, bridge traffic and nearby building work. Fieldhouse Flats construction across the street adds a daytime disruption worth checking before booking. Room-condition complaints crop up, although positive cleanliness reports dominate. Hotel parking is paid valet only, with a cramped arrival area; breakfast also costs extra. We'd choose it for an event-focused weekend, but skip it if quiet sleep or easy self-parking matters most.

  • Best for: Bucks fans and concertgoers; downtown nightlife weekends; travelers with dogs

  • Watch out for: nightlife and bridge-traffic noise; nearby Fieldhouse Flats construction; paid valet-only hotel parking

  • Location: RiverWalk setting within a short walk of Fiserv Forum, bars and restaurants.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable loft-style rooms; some guests report wear and maintenance issues.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly praised in recent reviews, with occasional bathroom-cleaning complaints.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across review sites.

  • Amenities: Indoor pool, gym, lobby bar and grab-and-go food; breakfast is not included.

  • Fees and surprises: Paid valet only, unavailable midnight–6 a.m.; Expedia lists a deposit; nearby construction can disrupt daytime stays.
