Axel's take: 7.8/10

Fresh rooms and strong resort amenities, but service still needs to match the setting. a renovated 5-star beachfront resort on quiet Key Biscayne, scored for what it is.

This 5-star beachfront resort is a good fit for a Miami-area holiday built around swimming, tennis and staying put. It reopened on December 8, 2025, after a comprehensive renovation, and recent guests praise the refreshed rooms, cleanliness and oceanfront setting. Separate adult and family pools give couples and families room to find their own pace. We'd choose it for a relaxed island break rather than a city stay.

The hesitation is service consistency at luxury expectations. Expedia's overall feedback remains strongly positive, but several post-renovation Tripadvisor guests describe slow poolside dining and missed or poorly timed housekeeping, including summer 2026 stays. Resort fees and paid valet also add friction. We'd skip it if faultless, anticipatory service is essential—or if you want Miami's nightlife on your doorstep.

• Best for: families wanting a self-contained beach resort; tennis and padel enthusiasts; couples seeking a quieter Miami-area break

• Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and poolside service; resort fee and paid valet; removed from Miami nightlife

• Location: Direct beachfront in residential Key Biscayne; better for unwinding than exploring Miami on foot.

• Rooms: Comprehensively refreshed in 2025; recent guests generally praise comfort, space and appearance.

• Cleanliness: A strength overall, though missed housekeeping visits recur in some post-renovation reviews.

• Service: Warm staff earn praise, but poolside delays and inconsistent follow-through undermine luxury expectations.

• Amenities: Adult and family pools, beach access, spa, gym, extensive racquet facilities and multiple dining venues.

• Fees and surprises: Allow for a daily resort fee, paid valet and an incidental deposit; Club Lounge access requires an eligible booking.
