Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong South Beach resort for families, less convincing for a quiet escape. A large, upscale beachfront resort in central South Beach, scored for what it is.

Loews is a large, upscale beachfront resort that makes South Beach easy: direct beach access, a generous pool deck, and restaurants and Lincoln Road within walking distance. We'd put it high on the list for families wanting resort facilities without sacrificing location. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff; the hotel's late-2025 guestroom redesign also makes older complaints about dated interiors less useful.

The trade-off is bustle rather than intimacy. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests mention crowded pool areas, while some Tripadvisor reviewers report slow food-and-drink service. The daily resort fee includes beach chairs, but not umbrellas, and parking costs extra. It's a very good all-rounder, but we'd skip it for an adults-only atmosphere, uninterrupted quiet, or a stay with few added charges.

• Best for: Families wanting a full-service beach resort; First-time South Beach visitors; Beachgoers who also want walkable dining

• Watch out for: Crowded pool areas at busy times.; Resort fee, paid parking and separate beach-umbrella charges.; Occasional food-and-drink service delays.

• Location: Direct beach access and a central, walkable base near Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive.

• Rooms: Redesigned in late 2025; guests praise comfort, though some report neighboring-room and corridor noise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com ratings and recent Expedia feedback.

• Service: Staff attract strong praise overall; some guests describe slow restaurant and pool-bar service.

• Amenities: Zero-entry pool, direct beach access, spa, fitness center, kids club and multiple dining options.

• Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee includes up to four beach chairs, not umbrellas; parking is separately charged.
