Axel's take: 7.9/10
A practical airport Hilton with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and some signs of age. A full-service mid-range airport hotel, scored for what it is.
Hilton Melbourne is a full-service mid-range airport hotel, not a beachfront resort. It’s a strong pick for flight stopovers and business trips: Melbourne’s airport is nearby, and Hilton provides a complimentary shuttle from early morning until midnight. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. The restaurant, bar, outdoor pool and gym give it more substance than a basic overnight stop.
The main compromise is condition rather than convenience. Several Tripadvisor guests describe dated rooms or bathrooms, and damp smells recur in a smaller number of reports, although recent cleanliness feedback is predominantly positive. Breakfast and standard self-parking cost extra. We’d choose it for a practical stay with on-site dining, but skip it for fresh, contemporary interiors or a beach holiday without driving.
