Hyatt Regency Maui is a large, full-service 4-star resort that makes its strongest case for families who enjoy spending time on property. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and well-kept tropical grounds. Pools, waterslides, resident penguins and cultural activities give children plenty to do, while multiple restaurants and private lanais make this a comfortable all-rounder rather than an intimate luxury retreat.

The beachfront is the important catch.
