Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong sightseeing base, with clean rooms but thin-wall trade-offs. a practical 3-star opposite Madrid’s Príncipe Pío station, scored for what it is.

Acta Madfor is a practical 3-star opposite Príncipe Pío station, and a strong pick for exploring Madrid without paying for luxury extras. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Metro, rail, shops and casual restaurants are close at hand, with the Royal Palace within walking distance. The rooftop sun terrace adds somewhere pleasant to pause, and breakfast generally earns good feedback.

The main compromise is sound insulation: guests on several sites report hearing neighboring rooms and corridors. In-room tea and coffee facilities are absent, and the terrace isn't a rooftop bar; this is a straightforward city base rather than a hotel to spend all day in. Parking and luggage storage cost extra. We'd choose it for transport convenience and dependable basics, but light sleepers should look elsewhere.

• Best for: sightseers using public transport; couples on a city break; travelers prioritizing clean, comfortable basics

• Watch out for: noise between rooms and from corridors; no in-room tea or coffee facilities; parking and luggage-storage charges

• Location: Opposite Príncipe Pío’s transport hub and shopping center, within walking distance of the Royal Palace.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and functional; sound insulation is the recurring weakness.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Trip.com feedback.

• Service: Mostly praised as friendly and helpful, with reception staffed around the clock.

• Amenities: Buffet breakfast, rooftop sun terrace, free Wi-Fi and a snack area; no pool, bar or restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, EV charging and luggage storage carry charges; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
