A polished central Madrid base, with a casino-related catch for smoke-sensitive travelers. a historic, adults-only 4-star boutique hotel sharing a building with a casino, scored for what it is.

Círculo Gran Vía is a historic, adults-only 4-star boutique hotel sharing its handsome building with a casino. It’s a strong pick for couples who want central Madrid on foot rather than a hotel packed with leisure facilities. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise the helpful staff, cleanliness and comfortable rooms; the overall ratings support a very good hotel, not just a photogenic address.

The casino connection is the important catch: guests on Expedia and Marriott mention cigarette smells around the restaurant and bar, despite the hotel’s smoke-free policy. Noise experiences vary, so light sleepers should request a quieter room rather than assume adults-only means silent. Breakfast can cost extra, and there’s no on-site parking. We’d choose it for sightseeing and attentive service, but skip it if smoke sensitivity or a quieter neighborhood defines your trip.

• Best for: couples on a city break; sightseeing without a car; adults seeking historic character

• Watch out for: reported smoke smells near casino-linked dining areas; variable noise experiences; no on-site parking

• Location: Excellent for exploring central Madrid on foot, with Gran Vía metro nearby.

• Rooms: Contemporary rooms earn strong comfort ratings; views and balconies depend on category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Trip.com feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are repeatedly praised in recent Expedia reviews.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bars, fitness room and room service; a casino operates in the building.

• Fees and surprises: Guests must be 18+ and meet casino-access requirements; breakfast may be extra and parking is unavailable on site.
