Axel's take: 6.2/10

Useful room amenities, but renovations haven’t resolved inconsistent cleaning and lingering smoke smells. A basic 2-star extended-stay motel north of downtown Lexington, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star extended-stay motel has practical appeal: refrigerators, microwaves and refreshed rooms within a short drive of downtown Lexington. We'd consider it for a budget stay if you can inspect your room first. Google’s small review sample is enthusiastic, while Expedia and Booking.com give a more mixed picture. Guests regularly praise helpful staff, and some find the renovated rooms clean and comfortable.

The renovation is not a guarantee of consistency. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guest accounts repeatedly mention stale smoke, uneven cleaning and unfinished maintenance; October 2026 Expedia reviews still flag dirty rooms. Guests also reported renovation work and construction noise during 2026, so confirm whether work continues before booking. Expect a damage deposit, with some guests reporting refund delays. We'd skip it if dependable cleanliness, quiet surroundings or a smooth late-night arrival matter more than basic value.

Best for: Budget travelers with a car; Longer stays needing a fridge and microwave
Watch out for: Inconsistent cleaning and lingering smoke smells; Renovation disruption; confirm current status; Damage deposit and reported refund delays
Location: North of downtown; Rupp Arena is a short drive rather than an easy downtown walk.
Rooms: Some renovated rooms earn praise, but odors, plumbing and door-lock problems recur.
Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room praise sits alongside repeated dirty-floor and bathroom complaints, including October 2026.
Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, but complaint handling and room assignments are inconsistent.
Amenities: Refrigerators, microwaves and free Wi-Fi; pets accepted, with fees listed by Expedia.
Fees and surprises: Guests report damage deposits; confirm refund timing, renovation status and arrival arrangements.
