#9 of 9 hotels in Newtown Pike by Axel's take. Newtown Pike is #5 of 6 places to stay in Lexington, Kentucky. The best hotels in Newtown Pike, ranked · Where to stay in Lexington, Kentucky

Axel's take: 5.3/10

Friendly staff cannot make up for unreliable housekeeping and worn-out rooms. a basic 2-star roadside motel north of downtown Lexington, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star motel north of downtown Lexington is a budget fallback, not a dependable first choice. Free parking, pet-friendly policies and laundry facilities are useful, and Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the front-desk staff. Some recent visitors describe clean, comfortable rooms, but the overall ratings remain weak for even a simple overnight stop.

The bigger problem is consistency: recent reviews across both sites describe dirty bathrooms, damaged bedding, unpleasant odors and neglected maintenance; Expedia also has recent pest complaints. The official site calls the motel newly renovated, but that does not square with many guests’ accounts of room condition. Despite the Airport name, this is not an airport-adjacent property. We'd consider it only when budget outweighs comfort, and skip it if dependable cleanliness is essential.

  • Best for: travelers prioritizing a low-cost overnight stop; budget travelers with pets and a car

  • Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping and pest complaints; worn fixtures, odors and damaged bedding; airport name overstates proximity

  • Location: North of downtown; the official site places Blue Grass Airport within seven miles.

  • Rooms: Basic exterior-corridor rooms; renovation claims contrast with recent maintenance complaints.

  • Cleanliness: Some guests report clean rooms, but recurring housekeeping complaints undermine confidence.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are the clearest recurring strength.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, parking, morning coffee and coin laundry; pool and airport shuttle remain unconfirmed.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free pet stays with restrictions, no elevator and credit-card-only payment.
