#5 of 9 hotels in Newtown Pike by Axel's take. Newtown Pike is #5 of 6 places to stay in Lexington, Kentucky. The best hotels in Newtown Pike, ranked · Where to stay in Lexington, Kentucky

Axel's take: 7.6/10

Worth considering for golf and pool time, but upkeep and service are uneven. a suburban 4-star golf and conference resort, scored for what it is.

This suburban 4-star golf and conference resort makes most sense when you'll use the facilities: an 18-hole course, spa, indoor pool, seasonal outdoor pool and pickleball courts. We'd consider it for an activity-filled Lexington break rather than polished luxury. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming staff, although the overall picture is less consistent on Tripadvisor and Trip.com.

The trade-offs are recurring reports of unreliable air-conditioning, worn areas, housekeeping misses and slow restaurant service. There's also a nightly resort fee; ask exactly what it includes. The outdoor pool is seasonal, and downtown sightseeing generally means driving. Nearby Hampton Inn & Suites construction was reported in July 2026, with opening expected in spring 2027; check potential disruption before booking. We'd skip it for a walkable city stay or consistently high-end service.

  • Best for: golfers who want to stay on-site; families planning pool time; conference attendees

  • Watch out for: uneven maintenance and air-conditioning; nightly resort fee and seasonal outdoor pool; nearby Hampton Inn & Suites construction

  • Location: Suburban setting north of downtown; better suited to drivers than a walkable city break.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise, but dated areas and unreliable air-conditioning recur in guest feedback.

  • Cleanliness: Strong Expedia cleanliness ratings contrast with repeated housekeeping complaints on Tripadvisor.

  • Service: Many guests praise individual staff; restaurant speed and problem handling are less consistent.

  • Amenities: Golf, spa, indoor and seasonal outdoor pools, gym and pickleball provide genuine resort facilities.

  • Fees and surprises: Nightly resort fee; self-parking is free, while valet and pets cost extra; nearby hotel construction warrants checking.
