#7 of 7 hotels in Nicholasville Road & Fayette Mall by Axel's take. Nicholasville Road & Fayette Mall is #3 of 6 places to stay in Lexington, Kentucky. The best hotels in Nicholasville Road & Fayette Mall, ranked · Where to stay in Lexington, Kentucky

Axel's take: 4.8/10

Useful kitchens and friendly staff cannot outweigh recurring cleanliness and pest complaints. a budget 2-star extended-stay hotel with in-room kitchens, scored for what it is.

This budget 2-star Extended Stay America offers practical basics: in-room kitchens, free parking, laundry facilities and a location near Fayette Mall. It could work for travelers needing somewhere inexpensive to cook and sleep, and Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff. But we'd look elsewhere first: this property falls short on cleanliness, even allowing for its simple, extended-stay setup.

Guest ratings are weak across Booking.com and Tripadvisor, while Expedia is more mixed. Some 2026 guests describe clean, comfortable rooms, but repeated reports of dirty bathrooms, smoke smells and cockroaches appear across sites, including summer and September reviews on Engine. Those are more consequential than dated furniture or a basic grab-and-go breakfast. We'd skip it for anyone who needs dependable cleanliness or a low-stress longer stay.

  • Best for: budget travelers prioritizing an in-room kitchen; drivers needing access to Fayette Mall

  • Watch out for: recurring cleanliness and cockroach reports; smoke odors despite non-smoking policy; limited housekeeping rather than daily cleaning

  • Location: Near Fayette Mall and Lexington Green; more practical for drivers than downtown sightseeing.

  • Rooms: Studios have kitchens; guests report inconsistent upkeep, worn furnishings and occasional smoke odors.

  • Cleanliness: Repeated recent complaints about dirty bathrooms, floors, linens and pests are the main concern.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn frequent praise, although complaint handling is inconsistent.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, parking and grab-and-go breakfast, plus kitchens and on-site guest laundry.

  • Fees and surprises: Pet fees and extra housekeeping charges apply; confirm the included cleaning schedule before a longer stay.
