Axel's take: 5.6/10

A convenient location, but worn rooms and unreliable basics undermine the savings. a worn, budget 3-star casino hotel just off the south Strip, scored for what it is.

OYO is a budget 3-star casino hotel near MGM Grand, not a full-service Strip resort. Its strongest arguments are location, spacious rooms and an informal casino atmosphere. Some guests find comfortable beds and helpful staff, but we'd treat it as a compromise rather than dependable value. Expedia and Trip.com reviews repeatedly describe tired interiors, uneven cleaning and maintenance problems that exceed ordinary budget-hotel wear.

Recent guests report malfunctioning elevators and weak air-conditioning, alongside some perfectly satisfactory stays. The mandatory resort fee and paid parking further weaken the value proposition. Athletics ballpark construction next door is another drawback, particularly for noise-sensitive travelers. Following 2026 reporting about misleading alternate-name listings and room images, verify exactly what you're booking. It's an option for undemanding adults prioritizing location; we'd skip it for a special occasion or if reliable cleanliness and working facilities matter more than savings.

• Best for: undemanding adults prioritizing south-Strip access; budget casino travelers comfortable with substantial compromises

• Watch out for: uneven cleaning and recurring maintenance complaints; mandatory resort fee and paid parking; Athletics ballpark construction next door

• Location: Convenient for MGM Grand and the south Strip, but beside the active Athletics ballpark construction site.

• Rooms: Generally spacious but dated; recent reviews repeatedly mention elevator problems and ineffective air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: Inconsistent: clean-room praise sits alongside recurring reports of stains, odors and insufficient cleaning.

• Service: Individual staff earn warm praise, but housekeeping follow-through and problem resolution are uneven.

• Amenities: Casino, seasonal pool and fitness center; smoking rooms are available, so this is not a smoke-free property.

• Fees and surprises: Mandatory nightly resort fee, paid parking and an incidental card hold; verify room images and property identity carefully.
