Axel's take: 7.8/10

A good downtown party base, but not a dependable choice for quiet nights. a budget 3-star retro motel-and-tower hotel beside downtown nightlife, scored for what it is.

Oasis at Gold Spike is a budget 3-star with retro motel-style poolside rooms and a separate tower beside Gold Spike’s nightlife. It’s a strong pick for friends who want Fremont Street within walking distance rather than a full-service Strip resort. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms; the pool and oversized games add appeal beyond somewhere to sleep.

The catch is that nightlife is part of the property, not just nearby. Noise reports vary, but late-night music and bass can undermine sleep, and some guests flag noisy air-conditioning and basic bathrooms. Choose your building deliberately: an Oasis poolside booking is different from a Gold Spike Tower room. Expect a nightly amenity fee, an incidental hold and paid parking. We’d skip it for a quiet retreat or polished resort comforts.

• Best for: friends on a downtown nightlife trip; budget-minded Fremont Street visitors; travelers who prefer a small pool hotel

• Watch out for: late-night music and bass; poolside and tower rooms are different; amenity fee and paid parking

• Location: Walkable to Fremont Street and downtown bars; not a Strip hotel.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise, but rooms are basic and some air-conditioning units are noisy.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, though not uniformly so.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating front-desk staff are a recurring strength.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym access, bikes and neighboring Gold Spike bar games.

• Fees and surprises: Nightly amenity fee, incidental card hold and paid parking; tower rooms are designated 21-plus.
