Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong pick for Strip fun and comfortable rooms, less so for peace and quiet. a lively, mid-range 4-star casino hotel on the southern Strip, scored for what it is.

New York-New York is a lively, mid-range 4-star casino hotel, not a luxury retreat—and it delivers well on that basis. We'd pick it for its remodeled rooms, broad dining choice and easy access to T-Mobile Arena and Park MGM. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms and helpful staff. The New York streetscape, arcade and roller coaster give it more personality than a standard hotel.

The trade-offs are casino smoke, roller-coaster noise in some rooms and extras that undermine the value. Guests repeatedly flag missing in-room conveniences, particularly coffee makers and standard fridges; check your room category rather than assuming they're included. Resort fees and parking charges also need factoring in. We'd skip it for a quiet, smoke-free getaway; for an energetic Vegas base without luxury expectations, it's a strong choice.

• Best for: value-minded Strip visitors; T-Mobile Arena concert and sports fans; travelers who want dining and casino action

• Watch out for: smoking permitted in the casino; roller-coaster noise in some rooms; resort fees, parking charges and limited in-room basics

• Location: Southern Strip, especially convenient for T-Mobile Arena, Park MGM and nearby dining.

• Rooms: Remodeled rooms earn praise for space and comfort; request one away from the coaster if noise-sensitive.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a dominant pattern.

• Service: Recent guests commonly praise helpful staff, though problem handling is not uniformly consistent.

• Amenities: Extensive dining, casino, coaster, arcade, fitness center and a seasonal outdoor pool.

• Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee, paid parking and an incidental deposit; the official FAQ says EV charging is unavailable.
