Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong family base near Sphere, with apartment comforts rather than Vegas glamour. A mid-range, apartment-style timeshare resort just off the Strip, scored for what it is.

Desert Club is an apartment-style timeshare resort, not a luxury Strip hotel, and it makes a strong base for families and longer stays. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the spacious villas, full kitchens, in-unit laundry and helpful staff. Five outdoor pools add genuine downtime, while Sphere and the central Strip are within walking distance. We'd choose it for practical comfort and room to spread out.

The trade-offs are unevenly dated interiors, no elevators and timeshare sales approaches that several guests find pushy. Most cleanliness feedback is positive, but don't expect daily hotel-style housekeeping. The hotel currently warns of nearby Formula 1 preparation noise overnight, September 15–October 30, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Factor in a resort fee and 10 a.m. checkout. We'd skip it for polished luxury or guaranteed quiet right now.

• Best for: Families wanting separate living space; Sphere concertgoers; Longer stays with self-catering

• Watch out for: Overnight Formula 1 preparation noise through October 30; No elevators; request ground-floor accommodation if needed; Timeshare sales approaches

• Location: Walkable to Sphere and the central Strip, without being directly on Las Vegas Boulevard.

• Rooms: Spacious apartment-style villas with kitchens and laundry; condition and decor draw mixed feedback.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall guest feedback, despite occasional reports of poorly cleaned units.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though front-desk experiences and sales approaches vary.

• Amenities: Five outdoor pools, fitness facilities, a game room and Gold Mine Bar & Grill.

• Fees and surprises: Resort fee includes parking; 10 a.m. checkout, no routine daily housekeeping, and current overnight construction noise.
