#9 of 9 hotels in Heavenly Village by Axel's take. Heavenly Village is #1 of 6 places to stay in Lake Tahoe. The best hotels in Heavenly Village, ranked · Where to stay in Lake Tahoe

Axel's take: 7.3/10

Pick it for Heavenly Village access, not polished rooms or resort comforts. a simple 3-star, motel-style hotel opposite Heavenly Village, scored for what it is.

Hotel Becket is a simple 3-star, motel-style hotel whose biggest advantage is being opposite Heavenly Village, close to the gondola, restaurants and casinos. It's a good base if you'll spend most of your time out exploring. Booking.com rates it more favorably than Google and Tripadvisor, while recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. Included hot breakfast and the on-site tavern add convenience.

The trade-off is uneven room condition: dated furnishings, worn carpets and tiny showers recur in feedback, alongside some musty-room and maintenance complaints. Road noise can intrude, and paid parking is limited. Pool information conflicts—the hotel website advertises a seasonal pool, but Best Western says there isn't one—so confirm before booking. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or a stay where polished facilities matter more than location.

  • Best for: skiers prioritizing gondola access; travelers exploring on foot; dog owners wanting a central base

  • Watch out for: dated rooms and small showers; road noise and limited paid parking; conflicting pool information

  • Location: Opposite Heavenly Village, with the gondola, dining and casinos within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise, but wear, tiny showers and maintenance issues recur.

  • Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is mostly positive; Tripadvisor also contains musty-room and cleaning complaints.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though check-in handling gets some criticism.

  • Amenities: Hot breakfast, tavern, fire pits and nearby gym access; confirm pool availability because official pages disagree.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra and spaces are limited; pet fees and a deposit apply, and some listings report a resort fee.
