#6 of 6 hotels in Bijou by Axel's take. Bijou is #5 of 6 places to stay in Lake Tahoe. The best hotels in Bijou, ranked · Where to stay in Lake Tahoe

Axel's take: 4.6/10

A convenient Tahoe location cannot make up for unreliable cleanliness and upkeep. a basic 2-star motel near El Dorado Beach, scored for what it is.

A&A Lake Tahoe Inn is a basic 2-star motel near El Dorado Beach, with free parking and restaurants nearby. The location is its strongest argument, but we'd look elsewhere even for a budget stopover. Booking.com and Expedia's overall guest ratings are poor, and the complaints concern basics a simple motel should still deliver: clean bedding, usable bathrooms and working equipment.

Tripadvisor's 2025 reviews repeatedly describe stained carpets, dirty bathrooms and broken TVs or lights. Expedia feedback remains uneven in 2026: one guest found a clean, dated room, while another reported stained sheets, shower grime and a strong smoke smell. Some travelers find it adequate, but that inconsistency makes it hard to recommend. We'd skip it if dependable cleanliness and a comfortable night's sleep matter more than location.

Best for: location-first budget travelers; short stays near El Dorado Beach
Watch out for: recurring cleanliness complaints; worn bedding and unreliable room equipment; limited reception hours
Location: Near El Dorado Beach and restaurants; not a beachfront property.
Rooms: Basic rooms with mini-fridges and microwaves; guests repeatedly report worn furnishings and broken equipment.
Cleanliness: A recurring weakness across sites, including complaints about stained linens and dirty bathrooms.
Service: Some guests praise check-in, but others report difficulty reaching staff when problems arise.
Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi; no elevator, and guest reports on Wi-Fi reliability vary.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists no after-hours check-in; confirm arrival arrangements before booking.
