#3 of 9 hotels in KL Sentral & Brickfields by Axel's take. KL Sentral & Brickfields is #4 of 6 places to stay in Kuala Lumpur. The best hotels in KL Sentral & Brickfields, ranked · Where to stay in Kuala Lumpur

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong, comfortable base for getting around Kuala Lumpur without a car. a contemporary 4-star hotel beside KL Sentral, scored for what it is.

Aloft is a contemporary 4-star that gets the practical things right: generous rooms, comfortable beds and direct access to KL Sentral and NU Sentral mall. We'd pick it for a city break or business trip where easy transport matters more than luxury polish. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, cleanliness and extensive breakfast buffet; the rooftop pool adds a worthwhile place to unwind.

The trade-offs are modest but real. Some recent Expedia guests say rooms and bathrooms are showing their age, while Tripadvisor reviews describe occasional delays getting rooms ready at check-in. Breakfast isn't automatically included, and guest parking is charged per entry. It's a strong choice for convenience and comfort, but we'd skip it if freshly updated interiors and consistently seamless arrivals are your priorities.

  • Best for: travelers using airport and city trains; business travelers; families wanting roomy accommodation

  • Watch out for: some aging rooms and bathrooms; occasional room-readiness delays; parking charged per entry

  • Location: Direct connections to KL Sentral and NU Sentral make rail travel, shopping and meals straightforward.

  • Rooms: Spacious and comfortable, though some recent guests flag aging interiors, particularly bathrooms.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia feedback.

  • Service: Warm, helpful staff attract repeated praise; room-readiness delays occasionally interrupt arrivals.

  • Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool, gym, bars and a well-reviewed breakfast buffet.

  • Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; guest parking costs extra per entry, and the hotel provides no airport shuttle.
