Romer House is a stylish 4-star boutique hotel near International Market Place, better for exploring Waikiki than retreating from it. We'd pick it for its mid-century-inspired interiors, walkable dining and shopping, and generally welcoming service. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff. The Backyard pool and cocktail bars give it more personality than a standard city hotel.

The compromises are practical: standard rooms can be compact, and street noise and loud air-conditioning recur across reviews.
