#6 of 9 hotels in Ben Thanh Market by Axel's take. Ben Thanh Market is #1 of 6 places to stay in Ho Chi Minh City. The best hotels in Ben Thanh Market, ranked · Where to stay in Ho Chi Minh City

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A practical market-side base, with compact rooms and some uneven edges. a simple 3-star opposite Ben Thanh Market, scored for what it is.

Avanti is a simple 3-star opposite Ben Thanh Market, and we'd choose it for sightseeing convenience rather than hotel time. Restaurants, shopping and the metro are close by. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and breakfast; Booking.com guests also make location the standout. It's a good fit for travelers who want a straightforward central base without paying for luxury extras.

The compromises are compact rooms—the hotel lists Superior and Deluxe categories at 20 square meters—and some tired fittings. Tripadvisor feedback is more uneven on maintenance and service, while several guests report traffic or nearby music disturbing sleep. Breakfast wins plenty of praise but isn't universally liked. We'd skip it if quiet nights or step-free access are essential: guests report stairs between the street and reception despite elevators inside.

Best for: first-time city visitors; market shoppers; couples on short sightseeing stays
Watch out for: traffic and nearby music can disturb sleep; stairs up to reception; compact rooms and some worn fittings
Location: Opposite Ben Thanh Market, with restaurants, shopping and Ben Thanh metro station close by.
Rooms: Superior and Deluxe rooms are listed at 20 square meters; larger family and market-view categories are available.
Cleanliness: Generally praised in recent Expedia reviews, though condition and upkeep receive some criticism elsewhere.
Service: Mostly helpful and welcoming in Expedia feedback; Tripadvisor reports are less consistent.
Amenities: Restaurant, buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, laundry services and a 24-hour front desk.
Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; airport transfers cost extra, and Expedia lists no onsite parking.
