Hotels in GalwayA small 3-star village-centre hotel with an Italian restaurant
8.1/10
Friendly staff and good food make this a strong base, with noise and parking trade-offs.
Coach House is a small 3-star in the heart of Oranmore, rather than Galway city. It's a strong pick for a comfortable village stay with dinner downstairs. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, clean rooms and breakfast, while Tripadvisor guests also rate Basilico's Italian food highly. We'd choose it for straightforward comfort and local convenience, not luxury or extensive facilities.
The main compromises are soundproofing and parking. Recent guests describe noise from nearby nightlife, corridors and creaking floors above; the hotel itself confirms limited on-site parking. Room sizes vary, and some bathrooms attract maintenance complaints, though cleanliness is broadly well rated. Breakfast can cost extra. Expedia lists midweek bar and restaurant closures that aren't confirmed on the hotel's website, so check dining availability directly. We'd skip it if undisturbed sleep or guaranteed parking is essential.

Best for: couples wanting dinner on site; short stays in Oranmore; travelers exploring the Galway area
Watch out for: nightlife and internal noise; limited on-site parking; confirm bar and restaurant opening days
Location: Central Oranmore, convenient for village pubs and restaurants; not Galway city centre.
Rooms: Comfortable beds and varying room sizes; soundproofing and some bathroom maintenance draw complaints.
Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback on Booking.com and Expedia outweighs occasional negative reports.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across recent reviews.
Amenities: Basilico restaurant, House Bar, free Wi-Fi, lift and terrace; a compact hotel rather than a leisure resort.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast may be extra; parking is free but limited; Expedia's listed dining closures need direct confirmation.
