Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong airport stopover with useful kitchens, but plan your own transfer. a modern mid-range aparthotel near Frankfurt Airport, scored for what it is.

Staycity is a modern mid-range aparthotel in Gateway Gardens, best treated as a practical airport base rather than a Frankfurt city break. We'd pick it for its well-equipped kitchenettes, comfortable rooms and consistently strong cleanliness feedback. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, while nearby groceries make self-catering genuinely useful. Gateway Gardens station provides a convenient rail connection to the airport and central Frankfurt.

The important catch: the airport shuttle stopped on January 1, 2026, so ignore older reviews describing it. Arrange your own transfer, especially for an early flight or heavy luggage. Staycity also confirms there is no scheduled housekeeping on stays of one to six nights; extra cleaning costs more. Parking is paid and limited. We'd skip it if you want terminal-door convenience, daily servicing or a lively central neighborhood.

• Best for: overnight airport stopovers; families wanting kitchen facilities; self-catering business travelers

• Watch out for: no airport shuttle; no scheduled cleaning on short stays; paid, limited parking

• Location: Gateway Gardens business district, near groceries and the S-Bahn; not central Frankfurt.

• Rooms: Modern studios and apartments with well-equipped kitchenettes; some studios are compact.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest feedback, with particularly strong Expedia and Booking.com scores.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise friendly, helpful reception staff; reception operates around the clock.

• Amenities: Gym, café/bar, guest laundry and free Wi-Fi complement the in-room kitchens.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and extra cleaning cost more; parking cannot be reserved, and the airport shuttle has ended.
