#7 of 9 hotels in Messe & Europaviertel by Axel's take. Messe & Europaviertel is #5 of 7 places to stay in Frankfurt. The best hotels in Messe & Europaviertel, ranked · Where to stay in Frankfurt

Axel's take: 7.9/10

A solid Messe base with friendly staff, but rooms could use a refresh. a practical 4-star business hotel near Frankfurt Messe, scored for what it is.

Novotel Frankfurt City is a practical 4-star business hotel near the Messe, and we'd pick it for exhibition visits or a straightforward family stay. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Accor guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and generous breakfast. Family rooms with sofa beds add flexibility, while nearby tram and S-Bahn connections make exploring Frankfurt manageable without a car.

The trade-off is that this feels more functional than polished. Recent guests describe some dated interiors and occasional problems with room equipment, including weak fridges and temperamental temperature controls. The location suits the exhibition grounds better than an old-town sightseeing break, and the immediate surroundings aren't especially lively. It's a good fit if convenience matters more than style; we'd skip it for a special occasion or doorstep access to Frankfurt's main sights.

  • Best for: Messe and congress visitors; families wanting sofa-bed rooms; business travelers using public transport

  • Watch out for: dated interiors and occasional equipment faults; not in the historic city center; parking and breakfast can cost extra

  • Location: Convenient for Messe and Festhalle; Frankfurt West station is about 500 meters away.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable, with family sofa-bed options; recent reports flag dated furnishings and occasional equipment faults.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly praised across recent reviews, despite occasional individual lapses.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though requests are not always handled consistently.

  • Amenities: Restaurant-bar, terrace, free Wi-Fi, fitness room and sauna; breakfast is frequently praised.

  • Fees and surprises: Budget for city tax, paid parking and pet charges; check whether breakfast is included.
