Good space and skyline views, but request a renovated room. a large mid-range business hotel in a Sachsenhausen high-rise, scored for what it is.

Leonardo Royal is a large, mid-range business hotel in Sachsenhausen: a good pick for room space and balcony views rather than doorstep sightseeing. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness, helpful staff and comfortable rooms; Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed. The gym, sauna and sports bar add substance, and a nearby bus stop makes the location workable without a car.

The catch is uneven condition. Leonardo announced 280 renovated rooms in December 2024, but Expedia guests still reported older rooms and renovation work in April–June 2026; confirm your room category and whether work continues. Breakfast earns plenty of praise, though crowding recurs across sites. Parking costs extra, and some guests mention traffic or aircraft noise. We'd choose it for a practical business stay, but skip it for consistently polished interiors or a sightseeing base where everything is walkable.

• Best for: business and conference travelers; travelers prioritizing room space; city-break visitors happy using buses

• Watch out for: uneven room condition; request a renovated room; renovation work reported in spring and summer 2026; breakfast crowds and occasional outside noise

• Location: South of the main sights in Sachsenhausen; buses nearby, but not a doorstep old-town location.

• Rooms: Spacious rooms with balconies; renovated rooms draw praise, while older interiors still attract complaints.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength across Booking.com and Expedia, despite individual lapses.

• Service: Usually friendly and helpful; some guests report weaker communication and problem handling.

• Amenities: Gym, sauna, restaurant, sports bar and free Wi-Fi; breakfast can become crowded.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, breakfast and pets carry extra charges; confirm breakfast inclusion and the current renovation status.
