Hotels in FlorianopolisA basic 3-star apartment hotel near Barra da Lagoa beach
7.3/10
A practical beach base, but location beats room comfort.
Ilha Bela is a basic apartment hotel rather than a polished 3-star stay. We'd consider it for a beach-focused trip: the official site places it about 100 meters from the sand, with shops and restaurants nearby. Ground-floor family apartments have kitchens and parking, while upstairs doubles are simpler. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the helpful reception staff; breakfast generally earns approval, though variety divides opinion.
The compromise is comfort and upkeep. Recent Booking.com guests mention hard mattresses, and Tripadvisor reviews describe worn kitchen equipment and bathroom problems. Cleanliness feedback is mixed rather than consistently poor. Housekeeping is not daily, and Expedia lists a cleaning charge. It's a reasonable pick for undemanding families who prioritize beach access and self-catering; we'd skip it for reliably fresh rooms and full hotel service.

Best for: budget-conscious beachgoers; families wanting a kitchen; travelers prioritizing walkable amenities
Watch out for: hard mattresses and dated fittings; non-daily housekeeping; upstairs rooms without an elevator
Location: Central Barra da Lagoa, a short walk from the beach, shops and restaurants.
Rooms: Kitchen-equipped family apartments or simpler doubles; recurring complaints concern mattresses and upkeep.
Cleanliness: Generally acceptable aggregate ratings, but recent guest experiences remain uneven.
Service: Helpful reception staff are a recurring strength, despite some complaints about other staff.
Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi, communal barbecue and games room; no elevator.
Fees and surprises: Confirm cleaning charges and frequency; the official site promises free parking despite Expedia listing none.
