#7 of 7 hotels in Springfield Gateway by Axel's take. Springfield Gateway is #5 of 6 places to stay in Eugene. The best hotels in Springfield Gateway, ranked · Where to stay in Eugene

Axel's take: 6.7/10

A practical overnight stop with friendly staff, but uneven rooms and few extras. A no-frills 2-star roadside motel in Springfield, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills 2-star motel just off I-5 in Springfield, not central Eugene. We'd consider it for a short, budget-minded stop rather than a longer vacation. Recent Expedia, Trip.com and HotelPlanner guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, and many report clean, comfortable rooms. Free parking, pet-friendly policies and nearby food options make the basics convenient, particularly for road-trippers and visitors to RiverBend hospital.

The catch is consistency: guest ratings are mixed, and recent reports range from perfectly adequate rooms to tired interiors, uncomfortable mattresses and housekeeping misses. Noise from neighboring rooms or outside also comes up. Refrigerators and microwaves are tied to specific room types, and there's no breakfast. Pool information conflicts across listings, so confirm availability directly if swimming matters. We'd skip it for a reliably quiet stay or if fresh interiors matter more than keeping costs down.

  • Best for: Budget road-trippers stopping overnight; Travelers with pets; Short visits to RiverBend hospital

  • Watch out for: Uneven room condition and housekeeping; Neighbor and outdoor noise; Conflicting pool information

  • Location: Near I-5 and Beltline Road in Springfield; better suited to drivers than downtown sightseeing.

  • Rooms: Basic and sometimes tired; select a refrigerator-and-microwave category if needed.

  • Cleanliness: Many recent guests report clean rooms, but housekeeping is not uniformly reliable.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the clearest recurring strength across recent reviews.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, coin laundry and 24-hour reception; no breakfast; confirm pool availability.

  • Fees and surprises: Free self-parking and pets stay free; no elevator, so request ground-floor access if needed.
