#4 of 9 hotels in Downtown & 5th Street Market by Axel's take. Downtown & 5th Street Market is #1 of 6 places to stay in Eugene. The best hotels in Downtown & 5th Street Market, ranked · Where to stay in Eugene

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong downtown budget pick that gets cleanliness and friendly service right. a no-frills 2-star motel in downtown Eugene, scored for what it is.

Downtown Inn is a no-frills 2-star motel that delivers well on the basics: clean rooms, welcoming management and a walkable downtown location. Expedia’s 2026 guests repeatedly praise the housekeeping and helpful front desk, echoing Tripadvisor feedback. We’d pick it for a short Eugene visit when comfort and convenience matter more than hotel extras. Free parking, Wi-Fi, microwaves and refrigerators make it practical, too.

The trade-off is a straightforward motel stay, not a full-service hotel. Some guests find the rooms small, and exterior walkways mean opening the curtains can sacrifice privacy. Older Booking.com feedback also flags tight parking for larger vehicles. Despite the busy-road setting, many guests report quiet nights. It’s good value for downtown exploring or a Hult Center visit; skip it if spacious rooms and extensive facilities are priorities.

Best for: budget-minded downtown visitors; Hult Center concertgoers; short stays and road-trip stops
Watch out for: some rooms feel compact; exterior-walkway privacy; tight parking for larger vehicles
Location: Walkable to the Hult Center, downtown restaurants and the Amtrak station.
Rooms: Simple, well-kept rooms with microwaves and refrigerators; some guests find them small.
Cleanliness: Consistently praised across sources, including numerous 2026 Expedia reviews.
Service: Friendly, helpful management is a recurring strength.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, free self-parking and a 24-hour front desk; facilities are basic.
Fees and surprises: Parking is included; extra-person and rollaway-bed charges may apply.
