Axel's take: 8.3/10
A strong family beach escape, provided you don't expect freshly renovated rooms. An established mid-range beachfront family resort south of Ensenada, scored for what it is.
Estero Beach is an established mid-range beachfront resort that works best for families planning to spend their days on property. We'd pick it for the waterfront setting, pool, hot tubs and welcoming service rather than polished interiors. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, restaurant and clean grounds, with several families returning year after year. Ocean-view rooms are worth prioritizing if the setting is your main reason for coming.
The main compromise is upkeep: several recent Expedia guests describe aging bathrooms and maintenance that hasn't kept pace with the surroundings. The hotel puts downtown Ensenada about 30 minutes away, so this isn't a walk-out-and-explore city base. Breakfast costs extra, and there are no elevators. We'd skip it for a sleek-room getaway or a trip centered on downtown restaurants and nightlife.
