Axel's take: 7.4/10

A practical budget base with useful extras, but room maintenance can let it down. a no-frills 2-star hotel on Edmonton’s south side, scored for what it is.

Best Western Cedar Park Inn is a no-frills 2-star on Edmonton’s south side, and a sensible pick for a straightforward stay with a car. Free parking and hot breakfast make it good value, while nearby restaurants and groceries add convenience. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms; some also mention updated interiors.

The catch is consistency. Several 2026 Tripadvisor reviews describe air-conditioning failures, leaks or rooms that stayed too hot, with uneven follow-through when problems arose. That matters more than dated decor. The indoor pool is small and shallow, better for a quick family splash than proper swimming. We’d choose it for a practical overnight stop, but skip it if dependable temperature control or a substantial pool is a priority.

• Best for: budget-conscious travelers with a car; short south Edmonton stays; families wanting breakfast included

• Watch out for: recurring air-conditioning and temperature complaints; small, shallow indoor pool; security deposit and extra pet charges

• Location: South-side location near restaurants and groceries; more practical for driving than downtown sightseeing.

• Rooms: Comfortable and updated rooms earn praise, but recent guests also report cooling failures and leaks.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength in recent Expedia reviews, though some Tripadvisor guests report dampness and odors.

• Service: Friendly front-desk staff receive frequent praise; maintenance follow-through is less consistent.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, free parking and Wi-Fi, indoor pool, gym and EV charging.

• Fees and surprises: A security deposit is required; pets incur additional charges and restrictions, so confirm terms before arrival.
