#8 of 9 hotels in Temple Bar by Axel's take. Temple Bar is #3 of 11 places to stay in Dublin. The best hotels in Temple Bar, ranked · Where to stay in Dublin

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong central base, provided nightlife matters more than guaranteed quiet. a modern independent 3-star in Dublin’s nightlife district, scored for what it is.

Temple Bar Inn is a modern independent 3-star that gets the important basics right: clean rooms, helpful staff and a location made for exploring Dublin on foot. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcome and housekeeping, while breakfast generally earns good reports. The bar, restaurant and comfortable communal spaces give it more personality than a basic overnight stop. It’s a strong pick for a short sightseeing-and-pubs break.

The compromise is sleep. Rooms can be small with limited storage, and nightlife and early-morning street activity are recurring complaints. There’s no air conditioning; fans help, but opening windows lets in more noise. A September 2026 Tripadvisor guest also reported early construction noise next door, so check whether work continues. Request a rear-facing room, without expecting silence. We’d skip it for heat-sensitive travelers or anyone prioritizing restful nights.

  • Best for: short sightseeing breaks; couples and friends enjoying Dublin’s pubs; travelers exploring without a car

  • Watch out for: nightlife noise and reported nearby construction; no air conditioning; compact rooms with limited storage

  • Location: Central Temple Bar, convenient for Trinity College, restaurants and exploring on foot; lively after dark.

  • Rooms: Modern and generally comfortable, but smaller categories feel tight; fans rather than air conditioning.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews, including strong Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness ratings.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are repeatedly praised; reception and security operate around the clock.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, bar, pool table, terrace and free Wi-Fi; no on-site swimming pool or gym.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra unless included; parking is paid off-site, and September 2026 feedback flags construction next door.
