Axel's take: 8.4/10

A dependable Dublin base with refreshed rooms, friendly staff and a convenient central location. a refurbished, practical 4-star city-centre chain hotel, scored for what it is.

Leonardo Parnell Street is a practical 4-star chain hotel just off O’Connell Street, and a strong pick for exploring Dublin without needing a car. A refurbishment completed by February 2026 refreshed all bedrooms and public areas. Recent Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; breakfast also earns consistent approval. It delivers reassuring mid-range comfort rather than a distinctive boutique experience.

The trade-off is the busy city setting: some guests mention outside noise, while opinions differ on how comfortable the surrounding streets feel after dark. Light sleepers should request a quieter room. There is no on-site parking, and breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. We'd choose it for a straightforward sightseeing stay, but skip it for a peaceful retreat or luxury service.

• Best for: car-free city breaks; families needing shared rooms; travelers prioritizing comfort and convenience

• Watch out for: outside noise in some rooms; busy surroundings after dark; off-site paid parking

• Location: Just off O’Connell Street, with shopping, trams and central sights within walking distance.

• Rooms: Refurbished rooms include air conditioning, mini fridges and safes; comfortable beds receive frequent praise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews on Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are one of the most reliably praised features.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi and a small 24-hour fitness area; breakfast is generally well reviewed.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may be extra; no on-site parking, with paid public parking nearby.
