Axel's take: 8.6/10

A reliable riverside base, with cleanliness and helpful staff its strongest assets. a practical 4-star chain hotel on Dublin’s riverfront, scored for what it is.

This practical 4-star on the Liffey is a strong pick for travelers who want dependable comfort rather than boutique character. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and genuinely helpful staff. EPIC is next door, Connolly station is nearby, and the convention centre is convenient. Breakfast earns consistent praise, while the revamped Honey Fitz restaurant and bar give you an easy option after sightseeing.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: some room layouts feel tight with several people and luggage, parking is expensive, and breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. Temple Bar is walkable, but this isn't a doorstep-to-pubs location. We'd choose it for a comfortable city break or business trip; we'd skip it for distinctive Irish atmosphere or nightlife immediately outside.

• Best for: sightseers happy to explore on foot; convention and IFSC visitors; travelers prioritizing cleanliness and service

• Watch out for: expensive paid parking; breakfast not always included; some rooms tight with family luggage

• Location: Liffey-front setting beside EPIC, near Connolly and Luas; a walk rather than a doorstep location for Temple Bar.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and river-view options; check the layout carefully when sharing with family.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest sites, including strong recent Expedia feedback.

• Service: Repeated praise for welcoming reception staff and practical help with requests.

• Amenities: Honey Fitz restaurant and bar, fitness centre, free Wi-Fi and guest laundry.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; third-party parking is charged and has no in/out privileges.
