A practical airport stopover, but confirm air-conditioning before you book. a large 4-star airport hotel on Stockhole Lane, off the airport campus, scored for what it is.

Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport is a large 4-star stopover hotel, and we'd pick it for a comfortable night around a flight rather than a Dublin city break. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; breakfast and the Italian restaurant also earn good feedback. The free, round-the-clock airport shuttle makes its off-campus location workable, while on-site parking suits travelers leaving a car behind.

The biggest catch is room temperature: several recent Tripadvisor guests report hot Deluxe rooms without air-conditioning, a limitation management acknowledges. Confirm cooling for your exact room before booking. This is also a busy operation, with some reports of impersonal service and noise. Parking costs extra unless included in your package. We'd skip it for walkable sightseeing or guaranteed cool sleeping conditions; don't confuse it with Clayton Dublin Airport Central.

• Best for: overnight stays before early flights; travelers using park-and-fly; families needing an airport stopover

• Watch out for: Deluxe rooms without air-conditioning; busy atmosphere and occasional noise; off-campus location requiring a transfer

• Location: On Stockhole Lane, about 4 kilometres from the airport; the hotel quotes a typical 10-minute shuttle journey.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and generally good space; verify air-conditioning for the specific room category.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback on Expedia and Booking.com outweighs occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though some recent Tripadvisor guests describe slow or impersonal service.

• Amenities: Free 24-hour airport shuttle, restaurants, bar, Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym; no swimming pool.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast may cost extra; this is not the terminal-side Clayton Dublin Airport Central.
