Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong city base where mall convenience and attentive service outweigh resort appeal. a renovated 5-star business hotel directly connected to Mall of the Emirates, scored for what it is.

This renovated 5-star business hotel is a strong pick for travelers who want Dubai made easy: direct mall access, a Metro connection and plenty of dining without stepping into the heat. The 2024 refurbishment refreshed rooms and public spaces, while recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Two rooftop pools, a substantial gym and a spa round out a convincing city-hotel package.

The trade-off is setting: choose it for shopping and getting around, not a beachfront holiday. Mall of the Emirates is undergoing a phased transformation, with new attractions opening into early 2027; check for disruption around your dates. Marriott also currently lists OAnjo restaurant as temporarily closed. We'd skip it for a resort-focused escape, but happily shortlist it for business trips and shopping-led city breaks.

• Best for: shopping-led city breaks; business travelers; families prioritizing mall access

• Watch out for: city setting, not beachfront; ongoing Mall of the Emirates redevelopment; OAnjo restaurant temporarily closed

• Location: Direct mall access and a Metro connection make shopping, dining and city travel straightforward.

• Rooms: Refreshed in the 2024 renovation; guests generally praise comfort and space.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Helpful, attentive staff attract repeated praise across guest-review sites.

• Amenities: Two rooftop pools, gym, spa and beach shuttle; OAnjo is currently listed as closed.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and valet are complimentary; tourism tax applies, and breakfast and club access depend on your booking.
