Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong family base, with generous space and service rather than Dubai glamour. A practical 4-star apartment hotel in Bur Dubai, scored for what it is.

Savoy Crest is a practical 4-star apartment hotel in Bur Dubai, and we'd shortlist it for families and longer stays. Kitchenettes, washing machines and spacious accommodation make everyday life easier. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff and cleanliness, with recent reviews reinforcing those strengths. The rooftop pool, children's pool and 24-hour gym add useful extras without turning this into a resort.

The trade-off is polish: some guests describe dated rooms and older appliances, so expect comfortable and functional rather than sleek. Metro stations and BurJuman Mall are walkable, but allow roughly 10–15 minutes rather than expecting them outside the door. The hotel advertises a complimentary Jumeirah beach shuttle, not a beachfront location. We'd skip it for a luxury occasion or a holiday centered on the beach.

• Best for: Families wanting apartment space; Longer self-catering stays; Travelers exploring old Dubai

• Watch out for: Some dated furnishings and appliances; A walk to the metro; Not on the beach

• Location: Bur Dubai base near shops and restaurants; allow roughly 10–15 minutes to metro stations.

• Rooms: Spacious studios and apartments with kitchenettes and washing machines; some guests flag aging interiors.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and repeated praise for housekeeping outweigh occasional negative reports.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are the clearest recurring strength across booking and review sites.

• Amenities: Rooftop pool, children's pool, sauna, steam room, 24-hour gym, free parking and beach shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Tourism fee applies; breakfast may cost extra, and early arrival or late departure can incur charges.
