The restaurant, licensed sports bar, gym and free parking give it useful extras without pretending to be a resort.
The important catch is transport: the hotel's current website says there is no airport shuttle, despite older reviews and some booking listings advertising one. Budget for taxis instead; Hamad International Airport is about 13 km away. National Museum Metro Station is a 10–12-minute walk. Rooms are functional rather than stylish, and there's no pool. We'd skip it for a very short connection or a holiday centered on hotel facilities.
