Cherry Creek is the polished alternative to downtown: boutiques and galleries along Second and Third avenues, destination dinners, and the shopping center across First Avenue. The compact shopping streets work well on foot, and the Cherry Creek Trail gives runners and cyclists an escape from traffic. Choose it for shopping or a stay where the immediate neighborhood matters more than downtown sightseeing.

The compromise is connectivity. There is no neighborhood rail station, so downtown museums, stadiums and Union Station require a bus, bike or car trip. Nightlife leans toward dinner and cocktails, not dancing. Check nearby construction before booking; Cherry Creek North continues to have active development.
