Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong city-center pick, with standout staff and a few practical compromises. a boutique-style 4-star city hotel in central Da Nang, scored for what it is.

Sanouva is a boutique-style 4-star city hotel, and we'd choose it for exploring central Da Nang rather than beach days. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise the welcoming staff, clean, spacious rooms and varied breakfast. Han Market, the cathedral and plenty of local restaurants are nearby. The rooftop pool and afternoon tea add appeal, making this a strong-value base with more personality than a standard business hotel.

The compromises are worth knowing: the pool is small, and some guests find the furnishings dated. Booking.com and Agoda guests report nearby road construction, including during summer 2026; check whether work outside has finished before booking. Entrance steps also deserve attention if mobility is limited. We'd skip it for a beachfront holiday or if guaranteed quiet matters more than central convenience.

• Best for: couples exploring central Da Nang; travelers prioritizing service and value; market and local-food outings

• Watch out for: nearby roadworks reported in summer 2026; small rooftop pool; not beachfront; high entrance steps

• Location: Central Hai Chau, convenient for Han Market, the cathedral and restaurants; beach trips require transport.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, though some guests note aging furnishings and occasional bathroom maintenance issues.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Booking.com.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are the most consistently praised feature.

• Amenities: Small rooftop pool, spa, restaurant and afternoon tea; breakfast variety earns repeated praise.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast and spa inclusions; airport transfers cost extra, and the current roadworks status needs confirmation.
