Axel's take: 8.3/10
A strong convention-center choice, with comfortable rooms and parking costs to factor in. a full-service 4-star convention hotel in downtown San Jose, scored for what it is.
San Jose Marriott is a full-service 4-star convention hotel, and we'd pick it for an easy downtown business stay. Its connection to the McEnery Convention Center is the biggest advantage, but the rooms hold up too: Marriott advertises renovated accommodations, while recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming staff. The rooftop outdoor pool, whirlpool and well-equipped gym give it something beyond meeting rooms.
The main trade-off is the extras. Valet parking is expensive, breakfast isn't automatically included, and M Club access depends on your booking or eligible status. The connected convention-center garage offers a self-parking alternative. It's a strong pick when convenience matters most; we'd skip it if you're seeking intimate boutique character or an all-in stay without add-on costs.
