Hotels in Anaheima Pixar-themed, mid-range Disney hotel beside California Adventure
7.9/10
A fun family base with comfortable rooms, but elevator queues undermine the Disney premium.
Pixar Place is a mid-range Disney hotel whose strongest selling points are playful theming and walkable park access, not luxury. It's a strong pick for families who want Pixar details throughout their stay. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming staff. The rooftop waterslide, splash pad and fireworks viewing add appeal between park visits.
The biggest drawback is the elevator system: long waits recur across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Reddit, making this more than an occasional grumble. The pool is also small for the hotel and can feel crowded. Dining choices are limited, and recent guests confirm there's no room service. We'd choose it for Pixar-loving children and convenient park days, but skip it for a spacious resort-pool experience or if you're expecting luxury service to match the premium.
Axel's opinion, from the hotel's website and recent guest reviews, scored for what the hotel is. Sources: Hotel website · Tripadvisor · Expedia · Reddit. Reviewed Oct 15, 2026.

Best for: families with Pixar-loving children; Disney trips without a car; park-focused stays
Watch out for: recurring elevator queues; small, crowded pool area; premium pricing without luxury amenities
Location: Walkable to Downtown Disney and the parks; Disney currently directs guests to California Adventure access through the Grand Californian.
Rooms: Spacious Pixar-themed rooms draw praise for comfortable beds; select categories overlook California Adventure.
Cleanliness: Recent feedback is strongly positive overall, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across recent guest reviews.
Amenities: Pool, waterslide, splash pad, gym and dining; the full-service spa is at the Grand Californian, not here.
Fees and surprises: Self-parking costs extra; breakfast is not complimentary, and room service is unavailable.
